Patch 112

LOCATION: Beckenham
MESSAGE:This is my square decorated with buttons and thread that had belonged to my grandmother.  Her generation and my parents generation just didn't do waste.  They mended, repurposed, reused as a matter of course.  Some of these buttons would have been removed from garments that were no longer wearable but were kept to be reused, reuse, reuse.

All my grandparents and my parents had gardens that were both ornamental and productive, using organic methods.  My hope is that more people will take to doing the same - making their own organic compost to improve the soil, growing bee and insect friendly plants, and including trees to absorb CO2 and provide a habitat for wild-life.
